NONPROGRESS IN PROGRESSIVE THOUGHT

CAN'T SEE THE FOREST FOR THE CEDARS

There are none left in Lebanon.

HOWARD DEAN COULD AT LEAST HAVE AN INDEPENDENT OPINION, BUT HE VOTES HIS CONTRIBUTOR'S CONSCIENCE INSTEAD OF HIS OWN OF THIS INVASION.

Israel is invading more than one country and it is not "defending" itself. It is not doing anything but making matters worse. It is not helping itself or the world. There are ulterior motives afoot, and they are not all in the area of self preservation. Their kill rate is ten to one, and magnitudes out of porportion to the alleged kidnapping crime.

We have seen the assinations of many other countries' officials by Israeli agents. No one else would be forgiven these international murders except with our protection. These state assinations are intended to disrupt and weaken neighbors so that those governments can be converted to robot despotisms.

What makes me curious is the other Arab states who have apparently abandoned Israel's suffering neighbors. It must be the oligarchist nature in all dictatorships which allows them to ignore lack of human rights or justice in other despotic systems.

Or is it that the "Western Democracies" that buy their quietude?

Howard Dean could at least encourage some cease fire: he ain't a rEpublican. Conililly Rice is betting that the longer a stronger Israel kills Lebanese, the less likely Hezbollah will have strength and munitions to succeed. I think world opinion is on a pivot, and the next logical turn is to begin questioning motives in Tel Aviv and Washington. Howard Dean should be ready with helpful questions and solutions when war crimes come under discussion. He, after all, is not a rEpublican, or is he?

Think whirled peace.

We could react to such behavior by calling for and enabling a ceasefire and forcing everyone to respect borders as they stood before occupation.

We could grow up.
